industrial vs grow?

There are a lot of metal halide's for sale on EBAY-quite cheap. Some don't look like the archetypal grow light (especially the reflector hoods). I assume they are the industrial style HID's. Are these basically the same?

Re: industrial vs grow?

Yes, basically they are the same. A hood is a hood, a bulb is a bulb (as long as it provides the correct spectrum). Now, you really have to be careful with "cheap" bulbs. Most of the time you will get what you pay for. We only sell name brand bulbs (GE, Sylvania, Philips, EYE Hortilux). There are a lot of knock off bulbs, which try to lead you to believe they are quality. When buying a bulb, you should always look for how many lumens it can produce, and what the exact color spectrum is that it produces. If you take a look at our catalog that you can download, on page 12 we have a light chart that shows you what a good bulb should produce as far as lumen output, and color spectrum.
