thoughts on general hydroponics nutrients...

I just got the 3 part general hydroponics mix and I thought I'd give them a shot...I wasn't to sure about the solution I had before with my hardwater, maybe it was rough. I had the mix-it-yourself salts from alabamahydroponics.com

I will let you all know how they work out on the strawberries.

I'm starting to notice internodal growth on the stems, so I figure I'm doing something right.

Also, I'm using a "Vita Grow" water conditioner to help with the hard water conditions around here...its $$$ stuff so I am trying to find ways around it.

Let me do some research on a Vita Grow replacement, and I'll get back to you.

Re: thoughts on general hydroponics nutrients...

Hi all,
I'm just investigating this process and would like to build an indoor living wall with a small fish pond. I'm wondering if there are different materials from nature, such as limestone that could be built into the wall that would supply minute amounts of the many minerals as the water runs across them. I would build ledges where plants could rest or lodge. The waste from the fish will supply nitrogen, and I wonder what other nutrients would be in the waste.
Thanks for your thoughts. Martha Bell

GH makes a hardwater micro that you should try out.
