If you operate with a 400 watt Ge bulb. Is there a difference (noticable to the eye/taste)in other more expensive bulbs? And am I correct in just buying by greatest lumins? |

It depends... you're either going to want a High Pressure Sodium (HPS) bulb, or a Metal Halide (MH) bulb. Depending on your needs, costs could (and do) change.
But if you're comparing an 400w HPS bulb to a 400w HPS bulb, then yes, you can just get the one with the highest lumen output. |
