Grow cubes
Grodan Grow cube is a cube - like loose substrate, made of stone wool. Grow cubes provide a perfect water buffer, with a very high water holding capacity. The water content in a pot of Grow cubes is at a maximum of 85%. Air space is always present. Not only are Grow cubes lightweight, they also provide large air spaces, since there are always open spaces amongst the cubes. Grow cubes maintain their cubic shape throughout cultivation. Due to these unique features, the substrate typically has an air-space volume of 30%, depending on the size and shape of the pot. This means that long irrigation cycles are possible without causing lack of oxygen to the roots. Thanks to these qualities, Grow cubes are an ideal medium for container cultivation of cut flowers. If desired, Grow cubes can be used in a potting machine for added convenience.Growcubes are absolutely free of disease, salts and weed seeds. This means that the grower knows he starts with a clean worry-free medium, ready for hygienic production. The homogeneous, airy structure of the Grow cubes is particularly beneficial for complete and thorough rooting. The root system of every plant has complete access to the entire rooting volume of the substrate. Grow cubes have no Caution Exchange Capacity (CEC) sot he grower can take advantage of a nutritional program specifically tailored the crop being grown. Having the freedom to determine the nutritional regime of the crop coupled with a large water buffer equips the grower with the tools necessary to optimize production. Grow cubes are suitable for extended cultivation in pots or containers for several years. Because the optimum air and water balance (always having sufficient oxygen for the roots), large irrigation cycles are possible even in middle of winter. Small bag contains 0.3 CF of material that will fill 3 one-gallon pots. Large bag contains 2.0 CF and will fill 23 one-gallon pots. Also available in the case of three (3) 2.0 CF bags.
